About these cat pages
Cats are one of the first animals children want to draw and color, and they are easy to make your own: the same outline can become a ginger tabby, a black cat, a calico or a gray cat with white paws.
The easy pages have big, round shapes and thick lines for ages 3 to 6. Medium pages add things like yarn, cushions and garden backgrounds for ages 5 to 9, and detailed pages have fur patterns and busier scenes for older kids.
A tip for coloring fur: put down a light base color first (yellow for a ginger cat, light gray for a gray one), then add stripes or patches on top in a darker shade. Coloring the inside of the ears pink before the rest of the head keeps it neat. If your child has a real cat, try matching its colors and markings.
