Cyprus flag coloring page
Cyprus's flag is white with a copper-orange map of the island above two green olive branches. Turkish Cypriot artist İsmet Güney designed it. It came into use on 16 August 1960, when Cyprus became independent, using neutral symbols meant to show harmony between its two communities.

About the flag of Cyprus
What it means: The olive branches and white background are symbols of peace between Greek and Turkish Cypriots. The map's copper-orange color recalls the island's large copper deposits.
Did you know? The map is colored copper-orange because the island has large copper deposits, and Cyprus may even be named after copper.
